Kansas City is one of our approved expansion plans. What draws us there is the gap we built Beyond The Sparks to close: plenty of places to go out, and room for more intentional ways to meet someone new.
From the Power & Light District to Westport, a night out can be a great time with people you already know. Meeting someone new is a different task. That's the gap we want a Beyond The Sparks night to help close.
A packed bar on a Friday is not the same thing as a room built to introduce you to someone.
The Same Problem, a Different Skyline
Crossroads Arts District, the Plaza, Westport and Power & Light offer different versions of a night out. Our interest is in what happens inside the room: a group of people who came to meet, with compatibility profiles giving the hosts a place to start.
Swiping can give you plenty of profiles without making the next step feel any clearer. We want the first conversation to happen in person, with some thought already given to who you might enjoy meeting.
What a Beyond The Sparks Night Looks Like
Before anyone shows up, every guest takes the free SPARK Quiz: about five minutes, with 24 questions across four dimensions, Connection Pace, Lifestyle Rhythm, Emotional Processing and Togetherness Style. We use those answers to help build the guest list around compatibility.
At the event itself, you mingle naturally, and our hosts make the introductions, pointing you toward the specific people the quiz already flagged as worth meeting. It's a night out that happens to be built around compatibility, not a dating seminar with a cash bar.
Why Now
In-person dating has a documented place alongside the apps. Eventbrite's 2024 Summer Dating Report recorded a 42 percent increase in attendance at dating and singles events on its U.S. platform from 2022 to 2023 [1]. That isn't a Kansas City forecast. Our expansion plan still needs a real local venue, host and date before it becomes an event you can book.
What We Don't Have Yet
We don't have a locked venue or event date for Kansas City yet, and we're not going to promise one before it's real. Kansas City is an approved plan. A published plan is not a ticket release, a reserved place or a city-specific notification list.

We originated in Tulsa, and Kansas City is one of the places we're planning to bring this. We'd love to see you there when a real night is ready.
